Complete List: Refugees in the Bible
Last week I wrote an overview of refugees in the Bible, focusing primarily on the Israelites in the Old Testament, and the Early Church in the New Testament. However, within these two groups there are many individuals whose stories are told in more detail in the pages of Scripture: Noah, David, Hagar, Naomi, Elijah, Philip, and more. I have put together a resource for you this week - a complete list of all the refugees in the Bible! I have also included the Scripture references where their stories can be found. I hope you will use this list as a resource to study what the Bible has to say about refugees and those who have been displaced from their homes. To access the PDF just click the link below.
I chose a handful of the refugees from this complete list to expound upon in more detail in my ebook. The ebook will be released here on Monday, May 8th, a week from today! In the ebook I retell the stories of six biblical refugees and then I relate their experience of displacement to modern day refugees. If you want to be among the first to receive a PDF of the ebook, make sure you subscribe to Faith & Forced Migration’s newsletter using the form at the bottom of this post.
On Thursday this week I will post the last article in this series on refugees in the Bible - a brief biblical theology of displacement. I’ll also be revealing the cover of my ebook for those of you who aren’t on the newsletter list yet, so stay tuned for that!
